The top layer is roasting layer, the middle layer is sintering layer, the bottom layer is melting layer, and the three artificial corundum material layers are not completely separated. It is the most commonly used brown fused alumina smelting method at present. The smelting methods of brown corundum can be divided into melting block method, dumping method and exile method. Exile method is also a continuous production method with high degree of automation and other advantages of aluminum oxide abrasive blasting grit dumping method. However, due to large investment and complex equipment, it has not been formally applied in China.


If the content of TiO2 is high, the fused aluminum oxide product quality is also unfavorable. If the content of K2O and Na2O is high, the product quality will be more affected. There are only a few gibbsite types in Fujian and Guangdong, but Al2O3 / SiO2 is relatively low. There are quite a number of corundum abrasive high sulfur bauxite in Guangxi and Shandong. Most of them are of gibbsite type abroad, but most of them are of monohydrate type in Europe. Other oxides are considered as impurities.


In the brown aluminum oxide smelting process, it is not only necessary to melt the burden. Greece is of diaspore - monohydrate type. In terms of chemical composition, most of the bauxites abroad have low SiO2 content, high Al2O3 / SiO2, and generally high Fe2O3 content. Al2O3 is the main component of bauxite, the higher the content, the better. The technical index of dumping method is generally better than that of frit method. The aluminium oxide blasting grit high content of SiO2 in bauxite will reduce the production efficiency of smelting brown corundum or producing industrial alumina, and increase the impurity composition. The content of Fe2O3 in bauxite is high. Although most of Fe2O3 can be removed, it has a certain impact on product quality. SiO2 is a harmful impurity in the aluminum oxide 40 grit production of alumina by alkali process.
